Be A Welcomer

Be A Welcomer

Welcome the unknown and the unexpected into your life.
“Nothing ever came out of comfort zones”

Dream, think, choose.
How do you welcome someone you do not know? What hospitality means to you?
Start today to engage in researching, inventing, consciously experiencing hospitality or the lack of it.

Join a workshop in Maastricht in May,
explore Art of Hospitality with Stefan Rusu and Welcoming Rituals with Florian Fischer.
You may write a short motivation and send it to

Arrive in Prague in 25th of May,
participate in the international student group,
work in shifts that leaves enough free time to explore Prague and PQ19,
create a temporary space and rituals of welcoming, performing, receiving guests, making soups…

Stay in Prague as long as you want,
Experience the PQ19, 50th Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, an event that brings the best of design for performance, scenography, and theatre architecture to the front line of cultural activities to be experienced by professional and emerging artists.

Take part in the student section of The Netherlands that welcomes all international students,
work, build, perform, share for a theatrical exhibition in PQ19.

Be a joyful and sincere host,
Make space, greet, take care, listen, feed, ask questions to the travellers who have been “on the road”.

Transform the space with hikers,
and dismantle it as part of the experience.
It is the culmination moment: welcoming creates goodbye’s.

Be open,
to new people, ideas, experience and knowledge that you will gain through hospitality.
Perhaps hospitality is like a parachute: it only functions when it’s open.*
